Abstract
This Environment and Climate Change Policy Brief aims to summarise the key environmental problems and opportunities for the Middle East and Northern Africa (MENA) region, related to poverty reduction and economic development and the Swedish government’s thematic priority Environment and Climate which includes four focus areas; (i) climate change adaptation, (ii) energy, (iii) environment and security, and (iv) water. Together with the Water Concept Note2, this Policy Brief is aimed at giving input to the process of developing a new Swedish Cooperation Strategy for the MENA region.
