Abstract
The Aviators Code Initiative (ACI) mourns the loss of Don Arendt, distinguished member of the ACI Permanent Editorial Board (PEB), friend, scholar, contributor and collaborator. Don demonstrated a deep commitment and passion for aviation safety, professionalism, and ACI mission. He lent his brilliance and profound understanding of safety management to every aspect of the ACI, heightening its quality and impact. His in-depth knowledge and willingness to engage as teacher and advocate were examples to us all. The Permanent Editorial Board and broader aviation community have lost a champion, a rare intellect, and a dear friend whose contributions have enriched us all.
