Abstract
Thermodynamics is one of the first classes an engineer will take, where you no longer learn practical ideas; instead, the concepts become theoretical. All of thermodynamics culminates in one of the most important cycles, the Rankine Cycle. This can be very overwhelming for students as everything they've learned throughout the semester is now being put into one cycle. The primary goal is to design and build an operational Rankine cycle to demonstrate to students how it works and what each component does.
